Over the coming day, talk to your child while you go through the diary, and tell them what you expect out of them.
Few suggestions.......

• Regularly ask to see your child's diary.
• Discuss homework requirements, and how your child is recording them.
• Sign the diary at the end of the week.
• Use communication boxes to maintain contact with class/subject teachers.
• Be consistent with homework supervision (actively observe if required).
• Contact the teacher if child is unwell, when work is due, or tests/assessments are occurring,
• Regularly ask your child to show his/her diary.
